How to identify a compatible USB-C PD 3.0 port:
To help identify a USB-C PD 3.0 port, look for the lightning symbol trademark near the USB-C port or check with the manufacturer. Ensure that the USB-C port is an accessory switched port that powers off when the vehicle is switched off.
Can I use a USB adapter?
No – the USB-C cable cannot be used with any adapters, for example: USB-A to USB-C – this can only be used directly with USB-C PD 3.0 ports.
My camera will not power on using the USB-C cable:
Ensure that your camera model is compatible with the USB-C cable, and that your USB port is a USB-C PD 3.0 port. Also ensure that you are not using an adapter of any kind.
My camera keeps rebooting with the USB-C cable:
If your camera is rebooting with the USB-C cable, this likely means that the camera is not running the required firmware version to support using the USB-C cable. Please update your camera firmware to the latest version using the cigarette power cable.
